| A graduate of Albany Medical College
in Albany, NY, Richard Siegel is board certified in Internal Medicine
and Endocrinology. After a residency and chief residency at University Hospital
(now Boston Medical Center) in Boston, he completed a fellowship in Diabetes,
Endocrinology and Metabolism at Tufts-New England Medical Center. Siegel directs the
Inpatient Diabetes Management Service at NEMC and brings a high level of expertise
in endocrinology and diabetes to the Obesity Consultation Center. His research
interests include novel hormonal therapies for obesity and the endocrine abnormalities
in severely obese patients undergoing gastric bypass.
