Edward Saltzman is a board-certified internist with sub-specialty training in clinical nutrition. He is also  a scientist in the Energy Metabolism Laboratory of the Jean Mayer USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging at Tufts University. Saltzman's research includes work on specialized diets for weight loss and treatment of obesity co-morbidities, on metabolic adaptation to bariatric surgery, and on the role of the aging process in energy regulation. Saltzman has made numerous media appearances and is the co-author of the popular "Complete Idiot's Guide to Losing Weight."
